The folks came and visited last weekend on their way back from Norway. They entertained with stories of niece Rhiannon and the Norwegian peoples, they brought tasty chocolates and gifts, and they kept great company with Eric and I.
They arrived Thursday night and we all met for dinner at a restaurant in Georgetown. They were very tired after their long flight from Norway via Copenhagen, and I think it is safe to say that they were extremely happy to find their way to my apartment and into bed. On Friday (coincidentally, also Eric's last day of work at his old job), we ventured out to do a bit of shopping (thank you, Costco), and then went for dinner downtown at Ruth's Chris with
Rebecca and Kristin joining us.
Saturday was super mellow.
Rebecca and I cooked everyone brunch at my apartment, then we went to the museum of the American Indian and the
Sackler Asian Art museum and the tidal basin to check out the remnants of the cherry blossoms. That was followed by a prolonged vegetative state at Eric's apartment: eating dinner, watching movies, and just chilling out. It was hard to believe that the weekend passed so quickly! C&D left Sunday morning at 7, and I was very sad to see them go. Alas, I'll just have to move back to California so I can see them more often!
here they are: the lovely couple in front of the
tidal basin on a chilly night.

the peanut gallery soon joined them.

Another shot in front of the cherry trees, with them looking even colder:

finally, everybody gathered around the computer in my apartment, talking to sister
